Glasshouse Pool

The Glasshouse Pool is situated next to The Station, at 58 Bowman Street. It is a glass-walled, light-filled structure with an outlook towards the Anzac Bridge and Blackwattle Bay, containing a 20 metre straight-edge heated pool marked with 5 lanes. Steps descend to change and locker rooms, with another set of steps ascending to the gym (see Glasshouse Gym). There is a disabled toilet and shower at pool level, with an exterior shower for use before entering the pool.

Note the following rules:

• Shower at home or in the change rooms and wash thoroughly with soap before you swim.
• Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Visitors must be accompanied by a resident, with no more than two visitors per residence
  permitted to use the pool at any one time, except for swimming lessons – see Rules 11-13.

The pool is generally available from 5am to 11pm 7 days a week.

The pool is unavailable at the following times:

• Tuesday and Friday 10-11am (this time is reserved for aquarobics)
• Wednesday 10am-2pm (cleaning)

Access for the less mobile

The CA has installed a set of steps to facilitate disabled access to the Glasshouse pool.

There are also suitable Council facilities at Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre or Cook & Phillip Park Pool. A summary can be found here COUNCIL-FACILITIES-FOR-LESS-MOBILE-SWIMMERS. Transport can be arranged through the community centre 02 9298 3130.

Aquarobics: All residents and their guests are welcome to join the aquarobics group which is free. If you are new, contact Lorraine beforehand. It is 10-11am on Tuesdays and Fridays.
